Common questions

How many PDFs can I merge at once?
Up to 5 PDFs at a time. Pages are combined in the order you upload the files.
Are my files private?
Yes. PDFs are merged entirely in your browser and never uploaded to any server.
Is there a file size limit?
No hard limit. Very large PDFs may be slow since your browser's RAM does the work.
Will the quality be affected?
No. The merge is lossless โ€” no re-compression happens, the pages are combined as-is.

Merge PDF files online โ€” free, no sign up

Combining multiple PDF files into one is a task that comes up constantly โ€” merging a cover letter with a resume, combining scanned pages into one document, or assembling a report from multiple sections. getpdfree merges your PDFs entirely in your browser, with no file size limits, no watermarks and no sign up required.

Upload up to 5 PDF files and they'll be combined into a single PDF in the order you upload them. The merge is completely lossless โ€” no re-compression, no quality loss, just your pages combined.

Common uses for merging PDFs

Job applications
Combine your resume, cover letter and portfolio into a single PDF before submitting.
Scanned documents
Merge individually scanned pages back into one complete document.
Reports and proposals
Assemble a multi-section report from separate PDF files into one final document.
Contracts and agreements
Combine a contract with its appendices or supporting documents into one file.

Does merging affect PDF quality?

No โ€” the merge is completely lossless. We use pdf-lib to copy pages directly from one document to another without any re-rendering or re-compression. The output PDF is byte-for-byte identical to the original pages, just combined into one file. Fonts, images, vector graphics and all other content are preserved perfectly.

Controlling the page order

Pages are combined in the order you upload the files. The first file's pages come first, followed by the second file, and so on. To change the order, remove files using the ร— button and re-add them in your preferred sequence.
